Special Meals
If you have special dietary requirements, you can let us know in advance and we will provide you with a suitable meal. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for all special meal requests. Unfortunately, variations of the meal request cannot be accepted; also, requests for specific items such as lobster, steak, caviar, fruit plate made for personal preference cannot be accepted
If you are booking through a travel agent be sure to get a copy of your reservation details confirming that a special meal has been requested. We also recommend that you re-confirm your request the day prior to your departure and also when checking-in for your flight.
You can order a special meal while booking and buying your ticket at UIA ticket offices, the airline's representative offices or travel agencies. If you have made a booking online at www.flyuia.com may order a special meal by using our special contact form at least than 48 hours prior to departure.
Vegetarian meals
Western vegetarian (lacto ovo): This meal is cooked using pure and unrefined products, including fruit, vegetables, dairy products, eggs and soybeans.
Vegan menu (non-dairy): This menu contains no dairy products at all, and is recommended for vegans.
Dietary meals
Diabetic: This menu is rich in cellulose and carbohydrates, but does not contain sugar or sweets. Vegetables feature highly on the menu.
Low-calorie: This meal will not contain excessive protein portions and the meal is low in fat and sugar.
Low in cholesterol: This will suit passengers suffering from heart diseases or cholesterol problems. The menu is low in fat and cholesterol and is rich in dietary cellulose.
Seafood: For those on a special seafood diet.
Salt-free: Here all the food is cooked without salt, and instead of ordinary bread, the menu offers 'Krekis' dietary rolls.
Gluten-free (morning flights only): Foods excluded are wheat or wheat flour, barley oats and rye, bread, cakes (unless wheat free), pastry, sausages or any flour based products.
Meals and religion
Kosher: All Kosher food is cooked strictly following the Jewish Kashrut rules. This menu does not contain pork and none of the other kosher meat dishes contain dairy products.
Muslim: This menu does not feature pork or pork dishes and the food is cooked in accordance with the Muslim Halal rules.
Children's meals
For babies: A special menu for children under three. The menu includes juice, dairy products: yogurt, cheese and processed cheese, and fresh fruit.
For children: The menu for children aged 3 to 10 is a bit more sophisticated, offering a choice of three different meals.
Notice for peanut allergy sufferers
Ukraine International Airlines serves peanuts within aircraft meals and as part of the snack service on board and other food served on board may contain traces of peanuts.
